Inc. offers a variety of training and consulting services to foundations, government agencies, professional associations,
and nonprofit organizations in order to build organizational capacity and enhance organizational learning. We help identify
opportunities and gaps, and provide recommendations for leverage and impact. Workshops and trainings are developed in a way that allows for active participation and productive
interaction. Real-time response techniques with polling technology are used when possible, and we like to allow ample time

¨ Path With A Heart – Pathfinder Solutions is
currently presenting a variety of training workshops and presentations for the Path With A Heart Initiative for a
variety of organizations, including the Council on Foundations, Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, Young Nonprofit
Professionals Network, and groups of Colorado, Oklahoma, and New Mexico
foundations. This initiative is focused on leadership succession challenges for foundations and nonprofits.

for Foundations – Pathfinder Solutions provides training and technical assistance for organizational capacity and
strategic learning for, e.g., the Conference of Southwest
Foundations, Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, Council on Foundations, Grantmakers
in Aging, Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy, and individual foundations such as The Colorado Trust, Anschutz Family Foundation, Caring for Colorado Foundation, the Telluride
Foundation,the George Kaiser Family Foundation, and the Community Foundation of Boulder County. Pathfinder Solutions assists with needs assessment, program development, research and evaluation,
provides technical assistance and training to foundations and their grantees, provides recommendations for educational activities,
and writes comprehensive reports. ¨ Capacity Building and Organizational Learning for Government Agencies –
Pathfinder Solutions consults on topics for government agencies such as the Health Resources and Services Administration,
the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Department of Education English
Acquisition Unit, the Boulder Police Department, Parks and Recreation, and
the Youth Opportunity Board, etc. For example, Pathfinder Solutions conducted evaluation and provided
recommendations for a HRSA social marketing campaign to reduce unintended pregnancies across a six state
region. Pathfinder Solutions more recently worked with HRSA’s Office of Performance Review to increase
their evaluation capacity. ¨ Capacity Building and Organizational
Learning for Nonprofit Organizations – Pathfinder Solutions consults and provides training and technical assistance
for multiple nonprofit agencies and community-based organizations such as the Colorado Dance Alliance, Nurses
for Africa, the Center for African American Health, Crawford
Family Resource Center, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, Grand Futures, and the Partnership for Families
and Children in Colorado; Wood River Ride Share in Idaho; and the Parent Child Center of
Tulsa in Oklahoma. Pathfinder Solutions has presented workshops for conferences sponsored by,e.g., Colorado
Nonprofit Association, Volunteers for America, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Southern
Colorado. Pathfinder Solutions has also presented workshops for nonprofits and foundations at Colorado's Rural
Philanthropy Days. Pathfinder Solutions is currently working with the the Tri-County Health Department
under a grant from The Colorado Trust on a four-year effort to assist urban and rural nonprofit organizations with things
like strategic planning, board development, communications, leadership and management, volunteer recruitment, service delivery,
evaluation, and resource development. Pathfinder Solutions is also working in a similar capacity with the Parent
Child Center of Tulsa under a longer-term contract supported by the George Kaiser Family Foundation in Oklahoma. ¨ National Training Library for Adult Protective Services –
This project was funded by the National Center on Elder Abuse and the National
Adult Protective Services Association
(national, 2004 to 2006). As a member of the REFT Institute, Alex Mitchell led the development of a National Training Library
for agencies protecting elders and adults with disabilities against abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Alex provided on-going
technical assistance services to State Units on Aging, Adult Protective Services (APS) and related nonprofit agencies, conducted
professional evaluation of training material, co-created an outline of APS Core Competencies, presented the project at multiple
conferences, and reviewed for publication and presented distance learning training curriculum.
¨ Restructuring Resources for Presbyterian Women’s
Humanitarian Aid – This consultancy position was funded by the Presbyterian Church, USA
(national, 2004 to 2005). Working with the REFT Institute, Alex supported this multi-stage program aimed at restructuring
Presbyterian Women’s national organizational resources. Alex conducted multi-state discussion groups and assisted with
report writing and providing recommendations. ¨ Summit
and Organizational Retreat Assistance – (National, 2003 to present). Pathfinder Solutions contracts with organizations
such as The Colorado Trust, the Colorado Department of Education and the Forum of
Regional Associations of Grantmakers to observe and record, conduct analysis and write reports on gatherings of local
and/or national experts for programs and initiatives addressing topics such as immigrant integration, aging, school safety,
the health care professional shortage, collaboration among coordinating agencies, and foundation governance and education. ¨ Collaborative
Leadership Challenge – This project was coordinate by the Lundy Foundation and funded by other foundations such as the Gill Foundation and
the Denver Foundation (Colorado, 2000 to 2001). As a member of the evaluation team with Dr. Dora Lodwick
from the REFT Institute, Dr. Allan Wallis and Dr. Carl Larson, Alex observed and recorded a year’s worth of monthly
2-day collaborative leadership trainings for LGBT communities in Colorado, providing on-going feedback and recommendations
the evaluation team, facilitators and program managers.
